Oregon students earn radio scholarships!

If you were thinking that ham radio was a hobby that only sucked your wallet dry, think again.

Amateur Radio Digital Corporation (ARDC) is a significant contributor to ham radio scholarships to the tune of a significant fraction of a million dollars annually, with multiple annual scholarships of between $5,000 and $25,000.

Other clubs and organizations, like OTVARC, QCWA, and YLRL, and individuals and their families provide scholarships to student hams as well. The ARRL Foundation administers the annual granting of many such scholarships. Other scholarships are admninistered by the organization itself.

For the 2026-2027 school year:

Atlas Miller, KK7UQE, YL-ISSB Scholarship, University of Oregon

With so many hams at so many Oregon colleges and universities, we can increase that number!

Scholarship application season typically opens in November.
